2010 Tours We Did or are doing Spin the Lakes Cycle Tour Huntsville Ontario May 31, 2010 YouTube is the start of the 170k Well organized event and the trail is well marked. The trail is scenic and quite hilly. There is a 50, 110 and 170k tour. There is a good meal at the end of the tour. I recommend this tour. Also, my wife and I enjoyed our two day mini-vacation in Huntsville. I liked the spaghetti and meat balls dinner at "The Little Place By The Lights" (with a Taste of Italy) downtown Huntsville. 705-789-2536 See photos of Hunstville.
Cambridge - Tour de Grand - June 13 This was my second year at doing the 160. The signs were much better this year and there was food at the end of the tour. The location of the signs were not always in a consistent location. This did cause people to miss their turn. I would recommend that you join up with local people. It is quite hard if you don't know the area to understand the road system from their map. Part of the first half of the tour was on a narrow, windy, hilly road and was not wide enough to be shared with traffic. Also, I did not see any support vehicles. The shorter tours were well attended by entry level rides including children. I think I will take my grandchildren when they are older. The road system is good and the organization was acceptable. Overall I would recommend this tour.
We did the 50 mile on Sunday. It was well organized and supported. They did have three extremely large slow up hills and very fast down hills. I did 75km on the down hill. It was tough but I made it. The only Canadian destination for the inaugural CENTURION Cycling Series Event. Open to all! Participate in the fun division or watch top European riders compete for the title. All welcome to the Free Finale Mountain Concert.
